Family Promise of Gaston County
Local congregations provide shelter and meals to homeless families (up to 14 individuals). The homelike accommodations are within the congregation’s facilities. Family Promise accepts families with both parents and single parents with child(ren) under the age of 18. Families must be capable of participating in a family environment supervised by volunteers. Services provided include:

Overnight accommodations
Hot cooked meals
Case management
Van transportation (as needed)
Support from volunteers
Counseling services (as needed)
Public transportation assistance
Clothing vouchers

EMERGENCY FOOD AND SHELTER PROGRAM
Financial assistance is available to low income families and families transitioning from homeless situations, when funds are available. Services offered are listed below:

Utility assistance
Housing financial assistance
Emergency food assistance

Money management training
Assistance with Housing & Employment Search
Internet access
